Library volunteers make a huge contribution to Worcestershire’s library services with over 350 volunteers of all ages generously gifting over 14,000 hours of their time each year.
Feedback from library volunteers highlights the positive impacts from the volunteering experience. Including improvements to their mental health and wellbeing, closer connection with their community, making friends, finding a sense of purpose, developing skills and confidence, and increasing motivation to look for work or pursue additional education or training.
A recent survey of library volunteers revealed that as a result of their experience, 92% felt more connected with their local community, while 55% felt more positive about their mental health and wellbeing.
