Timetable for preparation of the LNRS

Worcestershire County Council has been appointed as the responsible authority for preparation of the county’s Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS). This strategy, alongside those prepared by other responsible authorities across England, will be a key mechanism for delivery of the targets within Government’s Environmental Improvement Plan for England.

Timetable of the strategy so far

November 2022 LNRS Steering Group formed consisting of key partners and stakeholders.
 January to December 2023 

LNRS preparation timetable drafted.

Phase 1 Task and Finish Groups operational to:

  • prepare Stakeholder Engagement Plan
  • prepare Worcestershire State of Nature Report
  • consider data requirements for Local Habitat Map
  • prepare documents for Issues and Options Consultation
     
November 2023 Worcestershire State of Nature Report published.
January to February 2024   Issues and Options Consultation live.
May 2024 to February 2025 

Phase 2 Task and Finish Groups operational to:

  • prepare the final list of draft Biodiversity Priorities
  • collate and analyse species data
  • prepare table of Potential Measures
  • prepare Local Habitat Map
     
Spring to Summer 2025    Preparation of documents for Draft LNRS Public Consultation and seeking of authorisation from Supporting Authorities.
