Request to improve pedestrian and/ or cyclist crossing

Request to improve pedestrian and/ or cyclist crossing

Pedestrian and/ or cycle crossing improvements provide the opportunity for pedestrians and cyclists to cross the road more safely.

Pedestrian and cycle crossing improvements provide the opportunity for pedestrians and cyclists to cross the road more safely than their current situation allows.

Cycle Crossing facilities are located where there are existing off road cycle routes which would connect to the crossing point.

Crossings fall into one of two categories:

1. Signal controlled (Puffin, Toucan and Pelican)

2. Other crossings (Zebra, Pedestrian Refuge, Pedestrian Dropped Crossing)

Not every environment is suitable for all crossing types, for example, the only crossing appropriate for cyclists is a toucan crossing.
