Community safety partnership arrangements
The Safer Communities Board (SCB) provides strategic leadership for all community safety work.
The Safer Communities Board (SCB) provides strategic leadership for all community safety work across the county and is responsible for producing an annual Community Safety Agreement and Action Plan. This document sets out the strategic priorities and key areas of work for the year, and also enables the Safer Communities Board to work with the Community Safety Partnerships (CSPs) to meet a range of community safety priorities.
The Safer Communities Board also plays an important role in developing and maintaining strong relationships between the key partner agencies across the wider West Mercia region, including the Police and Crime Commissioner. There are currently 2 CSPs in Worcestershire with North Worcestershire CSP incorporating the 3 district authority areas of Wyre Forest, Bromsgrove and Redditch, and South Worcestershire CSP incorporating Worcester City, Malvern Hills and Wychavon.
Across the Worcestershire CSPs, the local delivery of Community safety priorities is overseen by district based operational groups. There are currently 4 strategic priorities for Community Safety work across Worcestershire, these are set out in the Community Safety Agreement and are as follows:-
- reducing re-offending
- harm reduction (including anti-social behaviour, safeguarding, hate crime, community cohesion and preventing violent extremism)
- domestic abuse and sexual violence
- drugs and alcohol
Across the Worcestershire CSPs, the local delivery of Community safety priorities is overseen by district based operational groups. There are currently 5 strategic priorities for Community Safety work across Worcestershire, these are set out in the Community Safety Agreement which relates to the PCC's safer West Mercia Plan and the objectives of the Community safety Partnerships as follows:
