All-Age Disability (0 to 25) Newsletter

This will provide parents and carers of young people with SEND with news and updates within the service.

February update

The local area partnership continues to work through the Priority Action Plan and SEND Improvement Plan following the outcome of the 2024 Ofsted and CQC inspection.

We’d like to direct you to this page of the SEND Local Offer website where we share monthly updates about the SEND improvement programme: What we’re doing to improve our local area partnership SEND services.

Updates for February include:

  • welcome from our new Independent Chair, Jane Friswell
  • workshops, training and support for parent carers, young people and professionals
  • £30.1 million additional funding for SEND provision
  • consultation on adult respite care

January update

We have slightly changed the way we produce our All Age Disability newsletters for a short time due to staff long-term leave. We would still like to make sure families are kept up to date with the work that we’re doing across the local area partnership to improve services for children and young people with SEND, as well as send other updates you might be interested in.

Therefore, we’d like to direct you to this page of the SEND Local Offer website where we share monthly updates about the SEND improvement programme: What we’re doing to improve our local area partnership SEND services.

Updates include:

  • ‘Deep dive’ feedback – an update about our improvement journey
  • Independent Chair recruitment
  • Coproduction with children and young people
  • support while waiting for your health appointment
  • greater education choice for young adults
