Upton improvements

On this page you will find the latest information about the improvements being made to the A38/A4104 Junction near Upton.

Works to construct a brand-new roundabout that will relieve congestion and improve journey times near Upton-upon-Severn are complete.

The four-arm roundabout, which also boasts better routes and crossing access for pedestrians and cyclists, was constructed by Worcestershire County Council and replaces the previous A38/A4104 staggered junction.

Ecological elements were covered as part of planning and taken into consideration whilst the roundabout works were in progress. Newt culverts under the road and gulley bypasses, as well as bat lighting have been included as part of the work.

Facilities for non-motorised users were improved with the provision of crossing locations on all arms of the roundabout and 3m wide shared footway/cycleways.

Take a look at this video, showing fantastic aerial shots of the the roundabout.
