Education, training and employment
As we think about becoming an adult, we think about what we’re going to do and how we are going to occupy our time. Some of that time will be spent with friends and family having fun, and some of it will be taken up studying at college or university. Then as we get older and are no longer studying, we will maybe look to get a job, or spend time helping somewhere (volunteering).
Here, under Education and training you will find information about different courses you might want to do, different colleges you can study at and information about alternatives to studying full-time. Some training opportunities can be in the workplace, rather than in a college. Under Employment and volunteering are ideas to help you with what type of work you might want to do, what support is available to help you find work and information about benefits.
It can be difficult to know what you want to do, so there is a section on Careers advice, with information about who can help you decide and websites with more information about what’s available.
