Worcestershire County Council is pleased to announce that its young persons' careers service, Careers Worcestershire (Careers Worcs), has been nominated for a prestigious national award.

The ERSA (Employment Related Services Association) Youth Employment Award celebrates the work of organisations across the UK that improve job opportunities and career support. This recognition highlights Careers Worcs’ commitment to supporting young people in Worcestershire through guidance in employment, education, and training.

Careers Worcestershire, a partnership between Worcestershire County Council and Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership, provides free, impartial careers advice to young adults aged 16-24. The service operates careers hubs across Worcestershire’s six districts, working with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), local councils, and education and training providers.

ERSA CEO, Elizabeth Taylor, praised this year’s finalists, stating, “The organisations shortlisted for the ERSA Awards represent the best in supporting individuals into employment. Careers Worcestershire’s nomination highlights their invaluable role in helping young people across Worcestershire build a brighter future.”

Charlotte McCaughtrie, Manager at Careers Worcestershire, shared her gratitude: “It’s truly humbling to be recognised by ERSA for this award. It’s a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, who go above and beyond to support young people in Worcestershire. I’m immensely proud of those young adults who have engaged with Careers Worcs to kickstart their careers and the incredible commitment they’ve shown to building their futures.”

Councillor Adam Kent, Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Skills & Economy at Worcestershire County Council, added: “We’re thrilled that Careers Worcs has been nominated for this prestigious national award, shining a spotlight on the invaluable support they provide to young people across Worcestershire. Careers Worcs empowers our young adults to take their first steps with confidence, setting them up for successful, fulfilling careers. This recognition speaks to the hard work and dedication of the team, and I couldn’t be prouder. Congratulations to everyone involved – this is a fantastic milestone, and we wish them every success in bringing home this well-deserved award!”
