Media

In the UK, the media sector employs 550,000 people and brings together opportunities in a wide range of sectors including; animation, computer games, film production, interactive media, radio, television and advertising.

Media includes the advertising sector and covers advertising, marketing and public relations or communications companies.

Advertising involves selling and promoting brands and goods to attract more people to buying them. This involves using a wide range of different techniques – from creating targeted Facebook advertising to making adverts for YouTube and then analysing the campaigns.

Many of these roles rely on computing and digital skills.
