SENDIASS guidance for early help
Providing advice, help or support as soon as possible to children and young people and their families when there is a challenge in their lives.
What is early help?
Early help is about providing advice, help or support as soon as possible to children and young people and their families when there is a challenge in their lives.
This could be at any point in a child’s life from birth to 18 years old and could also be on more than one occasion, if necessary, as children or young people’s needs change or develop throughout their lives.
The ethos within early help is to work with the family to access the right help and support, at the earliest opportunity to help them overcome their difficulties.
Early help is everyone’s responsibility and there are many services involved in providing early help.
