Join us at our libraries on 6 May for a spectacular range of events celebrating the Coronation of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort.

On this special day, libraries throughout Worcestershire will be live streaming the Coronation Ceremony from Westminster Abbey, so you won't miss a moment of this historic occasion!

In addition to watching the ceremony, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of Coronation themed activities across libraries, including seed planting and creative activities using seeds to honour the King's love of plants and gardening, and recognise the importance of sustainability and nature.

Join us in The Hive’s children’s library at 11:30am where we are delighted to host a live poetry performance by Amelie Simon, Worcestershire’s newly crowned Young Poet Laureate.

Amelie will be captivating the audience with a unique and intricately crafted Coronation poem sure to leave you feeling inspired and patriotic!

Hannah Perrott, Assistant Director for Communities for Worcestershire County Council said: “We hope that children and their families can join in these fun activities to celebrate this historic event, as well as seeing what their local library has to offer. The highlight of the event will be a performance by Worcestershire's Young Poet Laureate at The Hive. Don't miss out, and we hope to see you there!”

The event is open to all ages and is free to attend.
