Visit Worcestershire is celebrating after three Worcestershire businesses were shortlisted for the national VisitEngland Awards for Excellence.

The national awards highlight some of the best tourism businesses across the country and all shortlisted businesses will receive either a bronze, silver or gold award gaining national recognition for their contributions to the visitor economy.

All winners from the recent Visit Worcestershire Tourism Awards, hosted in March of this year, were automatically put forward for the national awards, making up over 300 national entries.  After a rigorous judging process, Worcestershire was strongly represented and clearly shone through across three categories, showcasing the fantastic array of tourism offerings within the area.

  • Resilience and Innovation Award – Severn Valley Railway, Kidderminster
  • Self-Catering Accommodation of the Year – Treeopia, Tenbury Wells

Dominique Bray, Business Growth Manager for Visit Worcestershire said “We are absolutely delighted to see three of our local tourism businesses make it through the tough judging process set by VisitEngland and to make the final national Awards for Excellence. To be honoured as a bronze, silver or gold national winner is an outstanding achievement and we are very proud to have such worthy finalists in our county”.

All finalists are invited to attend the awards evening which will be held at Birmingham Library on 8 June, where gold, silver and bronze winners will be announced.

The announcement coincides with the launch of Visit Worcestershire’s 2022 to 2023 Tourism Awards, where entries will be open very soon for businesses to apply across thirteen categories. Winners will once again be put forward for next year’s VisitEngland Awards of Excellence with the opportunity of achieving the high accolade.
