The Legal and Governance Team at Worcestershire County Council have been commended at The Lawyer Awards 2021.
On Tuesday 2 November, Legal and Governance achieved ‘Commended’ in the In House Legal Operations Team of the Year category at The Lawyer awards ceremony.
The team were up against five big names including EasyJet. HMRC won the prize, but the Council were commended for their hard work in the virtual ceremony that took place last night (2 November 2021).
Abraham Ezekiel, Assistant Director for Legal and Governance at Worcestershire County Council said, “I am so proud of the team. It was well deserved and wonderful for the team to be praised and recognised in a National Award ceremony.
“The team has had to maintain the services they provide during the covid pandemic and done an amazing job. People at all levels of the team have made a huge contribution to this phenomenal achievement.
“The Democratic Governance team have kept all the committee meetings going during Covid, which has been complicated due to new online meetings and health and safety requirements.
“The Childcare team similarly has had to adapt to completely new ways of running court hearings.
“And we have continued to support major corporate projects across the organization.
“It's great that these achievements have been recognised in a national awards ceremony.”
The Lawyer Awards is an annual ceremony that brings together private practice lawyers, senior corporate counsel, legal operations professionals and leading barristers and chamber management teams.
