Get ready to step back in time and explore the rich history of Worcestershire! 

The Worcestershire Archive & Archaeology Service (Explore the Past) is excited to announce their jam-packed spring and summer 2023 events programme, guaranteed to pique your curiosity and satisfy your thirst for knowledge.

In this year’s events programme, there's something for everyone. From free drop-ins to ticketed workshops and behind the scenes tours, you'll get the chance to delve into the fascinating world of Worcestershire's past residents and places.

With a treasure trove of photos, maps and written records dating back to the early medieval period, you'll have the opportunity to research your family or local history, or simply explore the archives and discover something new.

Join us for an unforgettable journey through time and immerse yourself in the history of Worcestershire, here what’s on:

May 20 at 10am - 3pm | Free local history drop-in

June 3 at 10am - 1pm | Family History for Beginners (£15)

July 15 at 10.30am -12.30pm - First stop resources for history research (£8)

July 29 at 10am - 1pm | Find Your Place in Time – local history workshop (£15)

Sept 9 at 10am – 12pm | School records (1870-1920) workshop (£12)

Sept 23 at 11-11.45am and 1.30-2.15pm - Behind the Scenes tour (£5)

*All events take place at The Hive, Worcester on Level 2.

Claire Haslam, Senior Archivist, said, "There’s so much to explore within the archives and many fascinating bits of history to uncover about your local area, family history and much more. We know though that lots of people are unsure where to start, or don’t even realise that we’re in The Hive and open to the public. We’re excited to relaunch our events programme and help people to get the most of out of the Archives – from free drop-ins where staff are on hand to show you around, to beginner workshops and more in-depth sessions.”
