The organisations social media platforms have gone from strength to strength over the past 12 months reaching thousands of users monthly, whilst focusing on what inspiring visits and overnight stays are available to the county’s visitors.

The first win of the evening was the Best Use of Instagram by a Charity/NFP/Public Sector.

A silver award was presented for Best Use of Twitter by the Public Sector.

The ‘Discover More’ summer campaign was awarded Best Social Media Campaign by a Charity/NFP/Public Sector.

Finally, Visit Worcestershire were crowned the Champions of Champions Award, and rewarded with a limited-edition piece of art prize, Worcestershire Black Pear, commissioned by local artist Susan Birth.

Lorna Robinson, Destination Manager for Visit Worcestershire said, “We are beyond delighted to win not one, but four awards in last week’s Social Media Awards. We work tirelessly to promote the County as an amazing place to visit and to have the recognition of our peers for the work we have done over the last 12 months feels amazing”.

Councillor Marc Bayliss, Cabinet Member for Economy, Infrastructure and Skills, said, “This a tremendous achievement for Visit Worcestershire and highlights the fantastic work they’re doing to promote the county as a destination to visit. Social media is an important tool to utilise, and Visit Worcestershire are setting the standard with high-quality content and campaigns.”

Stuart Allen, Founder of #WorcestershireHour and Head Judge for the event, said, "There were a number of very strong candidates in the running for this top prize, but the decision to crown Visit Worcestershire was unanimous by the judging panel. We look forward to them continuing their great work in promoting Worcestershire as a fabulous tourism and leisure destination."

As the summer approaches, Visit Worcestershire continues to help push tourism to the county.
