Residents have the opportunity to investigate stories of Worcestershire’s villages and medieval past at the Small Pits, Big Ideas exhibition this Spring.
The Small Pits, Big Ideas exhibition was launched by Worcestershire County Council’s Archive and Archaeology Service this January and will run through to 29 March.
The Exhibition will include discoveries and tales unearthed from the six Big Dig weekends which took place between Autumn 2021 and summer 2022. Discover the ‘Cabinet of Curiosities’ created by Spare Room Arts and local groups, showcasing artwork inspired by the test pit finds.
Councillor Marcus Hart, Cabinet Member for Communities at Worcestershire County Council, said: “I am delighted to see yet another fascinating exhibition from the Archive and Archaeology Service. The exhibition is an excellent opportunity to uncover Worcestershire’s Medieval past.”
Nina O’Hare, Project Officer for Small Pits, Big Ideas said, “The project has brought to light some fascinating stories about rural Worcestershire, which is all thanks to the enthusiasm and curiosity of the 400 plus local people who took part in our Big Dig weekends. This exhibition is a great chance to find out more about the history right under your feet!”
