Step back in time and immerse yourself in the rich history of Worcestershire at the annual Archaeology Day, hosted by Worcestershire County Council’s Archive & Archaeology Service.
The event provides a unique opportunity for history enthusiasts, academics, and curious minds to discover the latest archaeological research, finds, and projects from across the county.

Whether you’re intrigued by ancient discoveries or modern techniques, this event promises something for everyone, with a line-up of expert talks that highlight the fascinating stories unearthed right here in Worcestershire.
Councillor Karen May, Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Communities for Worcestershire County Council said: " Our Archaeology Day is always very popular as it is a wonderful opportunity to find out about projects and digs which have been taking place, and inspire residents to engage with the heritage of their local area.
This year's schedule offers a diverse and exciting lineup of topics! Join us for insights from Worcester's new Cathedral Archaeologist, fascinating updates from the field, and the remarkable finds of 2024. Explore the Archaeology of Worcester in 20 Digs as James Dinn, Former Archaeological Officer for Worcester, discusses his new book, delve into the Bickmarsh Hoard, and discover more about citizen science projects at the National Trust.
The day runs from 10am to 4.30pm on Saturday 23 November at The Hive in Worcester and includes refreshments on arrival, at morning break and afternoon break.
Tickets to attend in person are £23 and can be booked online on the Explore the Past website.
