A celebration of Worcestershire's food and drink sector begins this weekend as Taste Worcestershire makes its grand debut at the Malvern Autumn Show.
Taste Worcestershire, organised by Visit Worcestershire will launch a three-week program of special offers and exclusive discounts at eateries across Worcestershire from 7 – 27 October.
Adding a touch of fun to the event, the Taste Worcestershire stand will have an interactive photo opportunity in The Tipple Zone at the Malvern Autumn Show. Guests are invited to snap a picture in the beautiful autumn backdrop and share their photos across social media.
Councillor Adam Kent, Cabinet Member for Economy and Skills at Worcestershire County Council, said: “The launch of Taste Worcestershire at the Malvern Autumn Show is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the incredible variety and quality of our local food and drink industry.
“This initiative not only highlights our county’s rich culinary heritage but also supports our local businesses, which are a vital part of Worcestershire's economy.”
“From farm-to-fork producers to innovative distillers, we are proud to champion the best of Worcestershire’s vibrant food scene. Events like this help to boost our visitor economy, and I encourage everyone to explore and enjoy what’s on offer during this exciting celebration.”
In celebration of the launch, a unique Worcestershire-themed cocktail, The Worcestershire Foragers Bramble, has been crafted in collaboration with Piston Distillery, which features their locally crafted dry gin and apple juice from Clive’s Fruit Farm in Upton Upon Severn.
Visitors will have the exciting opportunity to sample this delightful cocktail for free. The first 100 guests who sign up for the Taste Worcestershire Golden Ticket between 1 pm and 2 pm on Saturday, September 28th, will receive a complimentary cocktail.
Grace Stringer, Managing Director of Piston Distillery said: “Working together to curate a Worcestershire inspired cocktail called the Worcestershire Foragers Bramble has been a privilege.”
“We are looking forward to partnering up with Visit Worcestershire at the Malvern Show in The Tipple Zone to talk all things, drink, Worcestershire and the upcoming Taste Worcestershire event.”
Taste Worcestershire is set to unite the very best of the county’s food and drink scene, all accessible through one voucher available to download, free of charge from the Visit Worcestershire website.
The initiative will also spotlight local producers through a series of "foodie hero" stories over the three-week celebration. Among the highlights is a specially created Worcestershire dish by Ivan Tisdall-Downes of Native at the Netherwood Estate, created exclusively for Taste Worcestershire.
With new restaurants, cafés, and bars being regularly added to the “Food & Drink Finder” on the Visit Worcestershire website. Customers can now sign up to receive their free Golden Ticket on the Visit Worcestershire website.
