It’s said that ‘a picture tells a thousand words’ and that’s certainly the case in showcasing Worcestershire County Council’s major projects and highways work.
To mark World Photography Day on Thursday 19 August, the County Council has taken the opportunity to look back at these works to celebrate all that has been achieved over the past 12 months.
A number of major milestones have been achieved in the last year, including bridges being lifted into place and opened, new roads being constructed and the refurb of town centres across the county.
Councillor Alan Amos, Worcestershire County Council's Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Highways and Transport, said: "We’ve made some really good progress on a number of our major infrastructure projects over the past year and as always we’ve also made a range of improvements on the county’s highways.
“We always try to capture these works in progress and the final results in picture form to show just how much of a difference these works make.
“Some of the images show the new bridges over the A4440 in Worcester and the aerial shots of completed schemes at Pinvin and Churchfields are great to see, and I look forward to seeing pictures of works completed this year.”
For World Photography Day, the County Council has put together a video showing some recent images, which includes major project works on Worcester’s Southern Link Road, A38 Bromsgrove Route Enhancement Programme, Town Centre Improvement Programme, walking and cycling works, Pershore Improvement Scheme, Churchfields Improvement works and Highways improvements.
