A local entrepreneur has launched her new business this month thanks to support from Worcestershire County Council.
Worcester-based Samantha (Sam) Launchbury has turned her dream of running a business into a reality with the launch of Severnside Virtual Assistant, which provides virtual business support to small businesses and entrepreneurs.
After years of excelling in professional corporate roles and motivated by a desire for greater flexibility and a healthier work-life balance, Sam drew inspiration from the wealth of resources offered by Worcestershire County Council to budding entrepreneurs.
Sam’s entrepreneurial journey started when she attended a transformative Business Start-up Essentials event at The Hive in Worcester. Hosted by Worcestershire Libraries’ Business Information and Support Centre (BIPC), the event opened her eyes to the wealth of resources available for aspiring start-ups.
Inspired and eager to take the next step, Sam enrolled in Enterprising Worcestershire’s Start-It Business Masterclass - delivered by Worcestershire County Council and Rock Solid Consultancy.
Speaking of her support she has received from Worcestershire County Council, Sam said: “It has been absolutely transformative. From the Business Start-up Essentials event to the Start-It Business Masterclass, and now the Digital Marketing Skills Bootcamp, each programme has given me the knowledge, confidence, and tools to bring Severnside Virtual Assistant to life. I’m incredibly grateful for the resources and mentorship that have helped me turn my business dream into a reality."
Councillor Adam Kent, Worcestershire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Economy and Skills, commented, “Sam’s success story highlights the impact of our business support programmes. The Start-It Business Masterclass and Skills Bootcamps equip local entrepreneurs with the skills and confidence needed to succeed. We’re proud to offer the tools and mentorship that help businesses like Sam’s grow and thrive.”
