Online workshops this November will help people discover more about their family history and the history of their homes.

Expert staff will be on hand to share their knowledge and through these workshops help you explore your past.

Staff will guide you through which sources to use and what they can tell you about the history of your family or a house.

Paul Hudson, Outreach Manager for Worcestershire Archive & Archaeology Service said, “We know family and house history are popular topics for research, but it can be hard to know where to begin or what sources mean.

“Our online workshops have been very popular in lockdown, and we are running some more to provide help and advice to those who are wanting to start or would like more help”.

Councillor Matt Dormer, cabinet member with responsibility for communities at Worcestershire County Council said, “Our award winning archives service offers a fantastic resource for the residents of Worcestershire to learn more about history. These workshops are a great opportunity to learn more about how the resources available can help you on your family history journey, whilst learning from people with a wealth of expertise in the area.”

The workshops are suitable for anyone looking to know more about how to use the sources available to them, and for those looking to start their journey to learning more about their history.

The events are organised by Worcestershire Archive & Archaeology Service and will be hosted online on the following dates:
