If you’re looking for a health goal to achieve by this summer, then now’s the time to spring into action!

It's the perfect moment to begin your Couch to 5k journey in time to prepare for the Wythall and Hollywood Fun Run that includes a 5K, 10K run and Families on Track 5K relay race.

Couch to 5K is a running plan for absolute beginners who want to get more active but need some support to get started.

If you are near Wythall, join their new free Couch to 5K programme starting on Wednesday 30 April 6pm – 6.45pm.  You don’t need to book, just turn up at Woodrush Community Hub, Shawhurst Lane, Wythall, B47 5JW.

Still undecided? Why not pop along to the open evening at Woodrush Community Hub on Wednesday 9 April 6.30pm to 7pm to find out more, or call 01564 820 099 or email info@woodrushsportscentre.co.uk.

Couch to 5K uses a mix of running and walking to gradually build up fitness and stamina. Couch to 5K is ideal if you’ve never run before. By the end, you'll be running 5K with confidence, no matter your starting fitness level or when you last exercised.

Start soon and you can graduate to 5K at the Wythall and Hollywood Fun Run in a warm, friendly, supportive environment and celebrate your achievement with other like-minded people.

Prefer to run your own way? There are plenty of apps available that offer a free Couch to 5k programme. The official NHS Better Health Couch to 5k app allows you to choose the voice of your instructor. One of the options includes Olympic medallist Steve Cram who is endorsing the Wythall and Hollywood Fun Run this Summer.

Find out more about the fun run and book your ticket at the Wythall and Hollywood Fun Run website.
