£1.2million of capital funding is available to support projects that can reduce carbon levels in public-sector buildings across the county.
The funding is there to help applicants to improve the energy efficiency of their buildings and invest in renewable energy technologies, but there is only a week left to apply.
The Public Sector Energy Efficiency (PEEP) grant funding can help to fund up to 40% of the total NET project costs, awarding up to £200,000.
The grant is able to support businesses to invest in energy saving measures such as:
- Renewable energy systems,
- Heat decarbonisation e.g. air source heat pumps,
- Smart LED lighting,
- Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS),
- Whole building retrofits
- Larger project proposals will also be considered.
Interested applicants must submit their paperwork to the PEEP team by 11:59pm on Sunday 1 May 2022.
Liz Alston, Sustainability Manager at Worcestershire County Council said, “The programme has been able to help many public sector organisations to successfully reduce their environmental footprint. With just a week left to apply, I strongly encourage those eligible to apply. The application process is simple and efficient. To date, 100% of eligible applications have successfully secured PEEP funding.”
All projects must be completed by the end of May 2023.
