Significant changes are coming to some schools in the Pershore area.

The Pershore education planning area will fully become a two-tier system (primary and secondary) from September 2027.

Agreement has been reached by the appropriate decision makers to extend the age ranges of all the first schools to become primary schools starting with retaining year 5 in September 2025 and then year 6 in September 2026. The middle schools in Pershore will no longer have a point of entry (admission) into Year 5 for September 2025, and Pershore High Schools intake will be expanded to accommodate all Year 7 pupils in the area from September 2027.

Councillor David Chambers, Cabinet Member for Education at Worcestershire County Council said: "These changes mark a significant step forward in streamlining the education system in the Pershore area, ensuring children experience a smoother transition between school phases and a more integrated educational experience for students and families. Worcestershire County Council is pleased to be able to be working in partnership with decision makers to support this change that has been called for by the community of schools.”
