Worcestershire County Council’s contractor Alun Griffiths (Contractors) Ltd has appointed a new sub-contractor to undertake the remaining steel work on Kepax Bridge in Worcester.

Welding of the pylon and curved section started on 10 June and delivery of a large crane and additional materials is scheduled to take place on Wednesday 26 and Thursday 27 June. Further sections of the bridge will be delivered and lifted into place in July.

Once all the bridge sections are installed, further work is needed before the bridge becomes operational.

Works are dependent on suitable weather conditions and may be subject to change.

Works continued on the west side of the river while the new sub-contractor was being appointed, this included drainage installation, landscaping work, including tree planting and ground works for the new raised footpaths and access roads.
