Comberton Primary School is buzzing with excitement as they introduce a fantastic new addition to their campus this academic year with state-of-the-art permanent classrooms.

The impressive new extension, featuring six modern classrooms, three versatile group rooms, and two floors of innovative learning spaces, is already making a significant impact for Year 4, 5, and 6 pupils.

The pupils are thrilled to be learning in these brand-new facilities, which have seamlessly integrated with the main school, enhancing their educational experience.

The initial feedback from pupils reflects their enthusiasm:

"It's so nice to have new classrooms and be part of the main school.  We love being upstairs as we have so much room and it feels more grown up." Darcey, year 5

"It's perfect! Our new school building has so much more space.  It's a really big change and we are so happy learning in here!" Olivia, year 4

"We love it!  It feels so much bigger and smells so new! The views from the top floor are great - it's like we are learning from the treetops." Oaklyn, year 6

Worcestershire County Council provided just under £2.1 million of capital grant funding to cover the cost of the project, with building work being carried out by building contractor Leons Building Services.

Councillor David Chambers, Cabinet Member for Education at Worcestershire County Council, said: “Seeing the new facility up and running is truly wonderful and the positive impact it’s already having on their students is clear. We believe that quality school facilities are essential for children's learning and development, and we are committed to ensuring that our students have the best environment to reach their full potential.”

Headteacher Deena Frost added: “We are thrilled to welcome our students into these fantastic new spaces. The new classrooms are more than just buildings - they represent a significant step forward in providing our children with the best possible learning environment. We’re also looking forward to showing off these new spaces to prospective families at our Open Day on 3 October. It’s a great opportunity for parents to see the improvements first-hand and consider what we have to offer for children starting school in September 2025.”

To book a time slot at their Open Day, please contact the school office via emailing Office@comberton.worcs.sch.uk or call 01562 754704.

The final touches to the landscaping around the new extension will be completed in October, ahead of an official opening later this year.
