Libraries offer a free warm space to its residents this winter

As winter sets in, libraries across Worcestershire are here to provide everyone with a free, warm, and welcoming space. 

Whether you are looking for a quiet place to read, study or relax, an opportunity to meet new people, or want support with digital skills, learning and job seeking all 21 libraries across the county are members of the Warm Welcome Network. 

Throughout the colder months, discover a range of free services, access valuable information, and take part in exciting events and activities. Whether you are looking to connect with others, find support, or simply unwind in a peaceful setting, Worcestershire’s libraries have something for everyone.

From Reading Groups and Language Cafes to Bounce & Rhyme sessions, Lego Clubs, Chess groups and Reminiscence groups, there is an activity for all ages. For those seeking work or technology help, libraries also offer Job Clubs, Job Fairs, digital support sessions and help setting up a new business.

Councillor Karen May, Cabinet Member for Communities at Worcestershire County Council, highlighted the vital role libraries play during winter: “As we head into the colder months, our libraries provide a great environment to stay healthy, both mentally and physically. Whether you are looking to relax with an enjoyable book, join in with a social activity, or connect with others, Worcestershire Libraries are here to support your wellbeing all winter long.”

Beyond the events and activities, libraries in Worcestershire offer free access to books, newspapers, computers, the internet, Wi-Fi, and study spaces for those in need of a quiet place to work or learn. Everyone is welcome to use the library as a warm space, and the friendly, knowledgeable staff are always on hand to ensure visitors feel comfortable and well-supported.
