“The loss of Alfie at the hands of the people who should have been caring for him in his own home, has saddened and shocked everyone at the Council.
“With the criminal trial now over, and the sentences handed down, our deepest condolences remain with Alfie’s family and friends.
“A full, multi-agency review is now underway and we will ensure that recommendations identified from this review are put in place.
“We continue to support Alfie’s friends and family during this difficult time and beyond.”
