Worcestershire County Council's Here2Help service has completed 10,404 requests since it was set up at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic.
Here2Help is a community action scheme, originally dedicated to helping those who needed support during the COVID-19 pandemic. As lockdown begins to ease, Here2Help is continuing to support people who need to self-isolate and offer support to those who are unable to seek help from family, friends or neighbours.
Councillor Matt Dormer, cabinet member with responsibility for communities at Worcestershire County Council said, “This is a huge milestone for Here2Help. It is truly cause for celebration that we have been able to help so many people through this service.
“I want to thank all the volunteers that have selflessly given their time, as well as staff and partner organisations who have helped us fulfil these 10,000 requests.
“Worcestershire has shown fantastic community spirit through the pandemic and through recovery.”
Here2Help provides support for people of all ages and is available for both residents and organisations to access information, advice, tools, guidance and local support available to them or others in the local community based on their needs.
