The Worcestershire Tourism Network is launching to help grow and develop a sustainable and dynamic local tourism sector across the county.
The aim of the Network is to provide a platform for local businesses to engage and work closer together.
The Network will build on the Here2Help Tourism programme which has just been launched.
The Tourism sector has been hit especially hard by the pandemic and the continued restrictions, so Visit Worcestershire wants to do all it can to support local businesses as we open up over the summer months.
Funded by Worcestershire County Council, The Here2Help Tourism programme will help operators to come back stronger and build profitable, sustainable businesses for the rest of the year and into 2022.
Councillor Marc Bayliss, Cabinet Member for Economy and Infrastructure, said: “We believe Worcestershire provides that hidden gem to tourists that we need to collectively be shouting about. We are looking to bring together industry knowledge, insight and creativity to form an active and informative network for the exceptional businesses that make up Worcestershire Tourism.
“By sharing experiences, building rewarding partnerships and generating new ideas our businesses and all our customers can benefit. The network will also host events aimed at growing and developing a sustainable and dynamic place for visitors to come and visit. “
The network’s first event will be virtual and take place on Thursday 15 July at 10am.
The team from Visit will be updating attendees on their activities, sharing some Quick Win ideas to help generate more income over the summer and outlining the full range of support available from the Council, including the launch of the Here2Help Tourism grant programme.
More events will follow into next year and will be advertised on the Visit Worcestershire Business Hub
