The Annual Foster Family Fun Day for Looked After Children took place earlier this month.

The event took place at Perdiswell Young People’s Centre on Sunday 7 August.

It is organised by the participation team, Worcestershire Children First.

The event came together with great support from the Children in Care Council, called Who Cares We Care.

Some of the Council’s corporate parents came along to show their support for the event, including Councillor Steve Mackay, Councillor Andy Roberts, Councillor Matthew Jenkins, Councillor Margaret Sherrey and Councillor Nyear Nazir.

Councillor Andy Roberts, Cabinet Member for Children & Families said, “A big thank you to everyone who volunteered at this event, it was an honour to attend with my wife Fran. It was wonderful to see the children having such a good time and it was great to liaise with our partners who did a great job in bringing the event together.”

There was something for everyone at the event; from a Harry Potter Room and Inflatables to Funky Faces doing face painting and nail art, and a magic photo mirror.

Sainsburys in St John’s, Worcester sponsored the café, offering free refreshments for carers and children in care who came along to the event.

There was plenty of options to get creative, with a variety of crafts and activities and cake decorating.
