2022 marks a year of change for us as we enter a new stage of normal after we start to recover from the Pandemic.

Now more than ever, this year’s Foster Care Fortnight theme of ‘Fostering Community’ could not seem more fitting.

The fortnight starts 9 May and runs through until 22 May and hosts a whole range of ongoing gatherings, activities and opportunities to meet up to discuss fostering in the County.

Caring for children is a tremendously difficult and important task and we aim to guide those that foster for us with supervision, training and participation.

Tina Russell, Chief Executive of Worcestershire Children First, said: “This fortnight is the time to give extra recognition and value to our foster carers, who make a huge difference to the lives of the children they care for and the invaluable part they play in helping us achieve our aim to make children happy, healthy and safe. I want to thank you all on behalf of Worcestershire Children First and on behalf of all the children in our care.

“WCF fostering are always looking to expand the county’s family of foster carers. We are particularly interested in those open to caring for teenagers and siblings. If you're thinking about fostering, we encourage you to learn more about what it's like to become a foster carer. You can talk to local fostering families and staff to understand the rewarding impact you can have on a child's life."

“Making the decision to foster a child is one of the biggest, but one of the most rewarding decisions you can make.

We want to encourage those considering fostering to find out more about the journey to foster, speak with local fostering families, staff and find out more about what life could be like as a foster carer if they were to join Worcestershire’s biggest fostering family.
