Finalists 2022 - Social Worker of the Year Awards

The Social Worker of the Year Awards is a major national event celebrating social work in England.

It attracts hundreds of entries every year and reaching millions of people with positive stories of outstanding social work, creative and compassionate practitioners and outstanding practice.

This year’s event will be held on Friday 4 November 2022, 6pm until late in London.

Nominee Naomi Thompson said, “It came as a surprise when I found out I had been nominated for Newly Qualified Adult Social Worker of the Year. I felt very emotional and honoured to be nominated as I was one of three brilliant newly qualified social workers doing the Assessed and Supported Year of Employment within my team. I think the nomination is down to having a supportive team at Worcestershire County Council and a great ASYE supervisor, great Practice Educator and Workbase Supervisor when I was a student at the University of Worcester. Therefore, I feel like I am sharing this nomination with my team."

Councillor Adrian Hardman as Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care said, “Social workers like Naomi have a vital role to play in helping us realise our ambition of being an excellent provider of our Adult Social Care services.

Worcestershire is continually striving to transform our social work service to ensure we provide a timely, transparent, person-centred and efficient service for our adults and carers.”
