This summer, families can enjoy fantastic days out exploring Hartlebury Castle and get buzzing with creativity inspired by the natural world around the castle and beyond.

Dive under the sea, fly through the sky, and travel back in time to the age of the dinosaurs! There’ll be a new theme every week in August for children to get stuck into: Dinosaurs, Under the Sea, Birds of a Feather, Junk Art, and Bug Creations.

Children can make their own roar-some animal characters including crafty crabs and glow-in-the-dark dinosaurs, create mini bird houses, decorate wooden bug scenes and more to take home. There’s also an opportunity to become a Young Detective with an exciting cryptic trail around the castle and museum.

With a woodland play area, fruit trees, and a beautiful moat, nature is a huge part of a visit to Hartlebury Castle. Not only can visitors be inspired by animals in the activities, they can look out for real wildlife from the bird hide!

Activities run from Tuesday to Thursday, 11am to 4pm, throughout August. Families can drop in or book in advance at hartleburycastle.com; £3.50 per child and whole-site admission applies.

Pippa Ashmore, Events and Visitor Services Coordinator at Worcestershire County Museum, Hartlebury Castle said: “The summer holidays are the best time of the year to celebrate the wonderful wildlife and nature around the museum – and who doesn’t love a dinosaur too? We can’t promise you’ll see a real one of those from Hartlebury’s bird hide though!”

Round off a great day out with a walk around the moat to the brilliant woodland play area.

During the day, visitors can refuel at Hayley’s Kitchen café or settle into one of the lovely picnic areas which have accessible benches.

Hartlebury Castle is situated just off the A449 between Kidderminster and Worcester. Parking is free. Visitors can book in advance and can plan their visit on Hartlebury Castle’s website.
