The deadline for applying for School Transport for the next school year is fast approaching.
Parents need to submit their applications to Worcestershire County Council by Monday 31 July 2023.
If you have not applied before the deadline, the County Council cannot guarantee that your application will be assessed before the start of term and you will need to make alternative arrangements.
Councillor Tracey Onslow, Cabinet Member for Education at Worcestershire County Council, said: “We know that school transport is really important to parents so it is important that applications are submitted before the deadline.”
Councillor Mike Rouse, Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport at Worcestershire County Council, said: “Demand for spaces has been increasing every year, so it’s really important to get applications in as early as possible to avoid delays or disappointment. Please help us to spread this important message.”
Parents do not need to apply if their child is already receiving school transport, and there are no new changes to report including those paying for vacant seats.
Parents also do not need to re-apply if they have already applied for the 2023/24 school year.
To apply, please visit the School Travel pages of the County Council website.
To view the latest updates to your application, please use the School Transport Application Tracker on the County Council website.
In line with the County Council’s usual practice, confirmation of all offers of vacant seats will not be made until after October half-term as the County Council needs to allocate seats to those children who are eligible first.
Parents of non-eligible children wishing to take advantage of any discretionary places will be placed on a waiting list and parents are advised to make their own suitable travel arrangements for the start of the new academic year.
Once availability of vacant seats is confirmed, the Transport Team will contact parents.
