Three local parks have been officially recognised as some of the country’s best – Worcester Woods Country Park, Waseley Hills Country Park, and St Wulstan’s Local Nature Reserve all raise the prestigious Green Flag Award again after achieving the international quality mark for parks and green spaces.
These beautiful green spaces have proudly raised the Green Flag Award for over ten consecutive years.
The news that the sites have achieved the accreditation is testament to the hard work and dedication of the teams that care for the green spaces, so that visitors and residents alike can enjoy them.
Councillor Karen May, Worcestershire County Council’s Cabinet Member with responsibility for Communities said: “I am thrilled to hear that three of our countryside sites have once again earned Green Flag Awards. They are a huge part of what makes our county so special for residents and visitors, providing opportunities to explore our fantastic green spaces and to lead healthy outdoor lifestyles.
I am so proud of the team and our incredible volunteers and would like to congratulate them on this huge achievement. They are the real success story behind the awards as they work so hard to look after the wonderful countryside in Worcestershire. Our green spaces would not be the same without them and I would like to thank them for everything they do.”
Keep Britain Tidy’s Green Flag Award Scheme Manager, Paul Todd MBE, said: “I would like to congratulate everyone involved in Worcestershire on achieving a Green Flag Award.
“These sites are vital green spaces for communities in the county to socialise, enjoy nature, for children to play safely and it provides important opportunities for park users to improve their physical and mental health.

The Green Flag Award scheme, managed by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy under licence from the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government, recognises and rewards well-managed parks and green spaces, setting the benchmark standard for the management of green spaces across the United Kingdom and around the world.
