An evening of celebrating the Worcestershire visitor economy is set to take place in March for the annual Visit Worcestershire Tourism Awards hosted at West Midland Safari Park.
A total of 37 finalists will be hoping for success and recognition regionally on Friday 24 March as well as the opportunity to represent Worcestershire on the national stage at the Visit England Awards of Excellence.
Visit Worcestershire received a record 111 entries from attractions to self-catering accommodation across 13 individual categories.
The best of Worcestershire’s produce and food scene has been carefully selected and developed into a bespoke menu for the evening. Recognising the county’s agricultural heritage and ever-growing food and drink industry.
Councillor Marc Bayliss, Cabinet Member for Economy, Infrastructure and Skills at Worcestershire County Council, said: “The Visit Worcestershire Tourism Awards act as the perfect opportunity to celebrate and give the recognition our tourism sector deserves. We hope to build on the success of last year with further businesses being awarded at a national level through Visit England for their stand out businesses and efforts towards the visitor economy.”
Pear Communications have been announced as the headline sponsor for the event. Pear is the UK’s largest media-owning online and offline service agency. Offering a range of services such as leaflet distribution, out-of-home activity, social media management and video production.
Ed Pereria, Chief Executive Officer of Pear Communications, said: “We are thrilled to be sponsoring the Visit Worcestershire Tourism Awards for 2023. Worcestershire is home to the most amazing tourism offerings in the UK and we are honoured to give recognition of the outstanding efforts made to showcase the wonderful county and provide unforgettable experiences. The Visit Worcestershire Tourism Awards are a beacon of how tourism should be celebrated, not only in the UK but Europe as well.”
