Next month, a free-to-attend conference, open to all Worcestershire businesses, will focus on Net Zero and Sustainability.

Incoming regulations and increased pressures from stakeholders require businesses, both small and large, to mitigate their environmental impact. It is important for businesses to start thinking about their sustainability strategy as getting ahead of the curve can keep businesses competitive and resilient.

Many may have heard of Net Zero, but don’t necessarily know what this means or how this can be achieved in their business. This conference aims to help businesses who are looking to begin their Net Zero journeys and those already committed to making a change but are looking for inspiration to improve their current strategy.

The popular conference will explore what is Net Zero, how businesses can tackle rising energy costs, carbon reduction techniques, and delve into employee and supply chain engagement.

Organised by Worcestershire County Council and the Worcestershire Growth Hub, the conference is set to take place on Tuesday 27 June at Sixways Stadium in Worcester, 8am  to 1pm.

Councillor Marc Bayliss, Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Economy and Skills, said: “I am delighted that the upcoming conference will focus on supporting businesses on their Net Zero journeys. It is a fantastic opportunity for businesses to learn best practice, gain fresh ideas and be encouraged to do things differently. With spaces limited, I urge you to register your free place today.”

Councillor Richard Morris, Cabinet Member with Responsibility for the Environment, said: “We are committed to helping businesses reduce their environmental impact whilst enabling sustainable growth. This conference is a timely opportunity for businesses to be inspired and collaborate on progressing sustainability. If your business has a strong appetite to change or is looking for support in helping you on your sustainability journey, this conference is for you.”

Through thought-provoking discussions and talks, attendees will participate in expert-led sessions and be inspired by local business success stories.

Confirmed speakers include, Laura Mitchell, Client Delivery Manager at Climate Essentials and Isla Buchanan, Strategy Programme Director at Malvern Panalytical. More speakers are to be revealed over the coming weeks.

During the event, there will be time for networking, and attendees will have the opportunity to learn about support available to businesses throughout the county.
