The Careers Worcestershire Hub at The Hive in Worcester is celebrating success after hitting its one year anniversary.

Launched in the summer of 2022 the careers, training, and education service, known as Careers Worcs, is a collaboration between Worcestershire County Council, the Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership and backed by the European Social Fund.

It primarily aims to help young people aged 15-24 who are not in education or training, as well as providing supportive advice for all young adults looking for further education, apprenticeship, training, employability, and wellbeing support.

Since its launch, the Careers Worcs’ Hub at The Hive has supported more than 500 young people with comprehensive career guidance and seen over 135 young people secure ongoing employment.

Judy Gibbs, Head of Skills and Investment at Worcestershire County Council, praised the impact of the Careers Worcs Hub, "This one-year milestone showcases the unwavering dedication of the Careers Worcestershire team and the incredible potential of our young people here in Worcestershire. It’s become an indispensable resource and we are so proud of the young people that come in to use the service. The partnerships we’ve developed, such as with DWP, Worcestershire Apprenticeships, WorkPays, SeeTec Pluss, Young Adult Learning Worcestershire, The Basement Project and more, have helped us ensure that young people across the county get the best support possible. As the Careers Worcestershire Hub enters its second year, it does so with immense pride in past achievements and an unwavering commitment to empowering future generations in Worcestershire."

Councillor Marc Bayliss, Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Economy, Infrastructure, and Skills, said the Careers Worcestershire Hub at The Hive has played a pivotal role, “The team here at Careers Worcs are helping to transform the lives of young people and together they’re making a real difference in shaping Worcestershire’s workforce of the future. With strategic partnerships and unwavering support, we've witnessed positive transformations, empowering our young talents with skills and knowledge to thrive in their chosen fields.
