Candidates Briefing coming up this month for election hopefuls

Authored on

On Thursday 1 May, the people of Worcestershire will once again have the chance to vote for the representative member for their local area on the County Council.

Have you ever thought about being a County Councillor but you’re not sure where to start? Do you feel you have what it takes to make decisions about the county's roads, adult social care or looked after children?

If the answer to both of these questions is yes, then your next step is to attend a Candidates’ Briefing via Microsoft Teams on Wednesday 12 March.

You can register your interest and receive further information about the event, including a link to attend by emailing elections@bromsgroveandredditch.gov.uk

Almost anyone can put themselves forward to become a county councillor as long as they meet the criteria for becoming a councillor.

The event will explain how to complete the nomination papers, provide information on the campaign period including key dates.

The event will also provide an opportunity to meet the electoral services staff, who will be supporting with the running of the election, as well as the county’s returning officer, Hazel Best.

The Notice of Election will be published on Thursday 20 March and prospective candidates will then have up until 4pm on Wednesday 2 April to get their nomination papers submitted.
