Worcestershire County Council is leading a partnership project to develop a new county-wide volunteer portal.

The new portal will help people find out about volunteering opportunities in Worcestershire.

To help us do this, the County Council is hosting two surveys. One is looking for views and feedback from residents who currently volunteer, whilst the second focuses on feedback from organisations who use volunteers, to help us understand how they find out about volunteering and their preferences.

The portal will include an online location for organisations to advertise, and for residents to search for local volunteering opportunities.

Both surveys will be open until Sunday 29 September.

Councillor Karen May, Cabinet Member for Communities for Worcestershire County Council said: “We are thrilled to be able to make this important investment into volunteer recruitment. Volunteering is a great way for people to give back to their communities. It also supports individuals’ health and wellbeing. We are hoping to encourage as many people as possible to help us create a portal will work best for them.”

For organisations that recruit volunteers, there is a separate survey and link to complete: Worcestershire Volunteer Portal - organisations survey

For residents who have volunteered, are thinking about volunteering, or are currently volunteers: Worcestershire Volunteer Portal - resident survey

For further information or to request support to complete the survey, then please email strengtheningcommunities@worcestershire.gov.uk.

The portal has been made possible after the County Council was been successful in securing funding from the Department of Health and Social Care’s Accelerating Reform Fund to support volunteering across the health and social care system.
