Want to become a superhero and help shape the lives of children in need? Come and find out more at a special coffee morning just for you.
Worcestershire Children First Fostering are hosting an open morning for anyone wanting to join the county’s superheroes – foster carers.
The event on Saturday 25 May gives you the opportunity to speak to those with first hand experience, our current foster carers, ask questions, and understand what your next steps may be.
Foster Care Fortnight, which started Monday 13 May, is this year all about marking the Fostering Moments, celebrating the moments that define fostering journeys, big and small including those at the very start of the journey.
Visit our current superheroes at the Lakeview room at the end of the cafe at County Hall between 9am-1pm, to take the first steps on your very own fostering, superhero journey.
Councillor Steve Mackay, Cabinet Member for Children and Families at Worcestershire County Council said, "Becoming a foster carer is one of the biggest and most rewarding decisions you'll ever make. The focus Foster Care Fortnight gives, provides an opportunity to recruit new superheroes to help shape lives and also for us to say thank you and show our appreciation for our current foster care families. They really do make an invaluable difference to the lives of children and young people across our county. We are always looking for new members to join our fostering family and I would encourage anyone considering fostering to come along to our open morning to find out more about what it's like to be a foster carer. I’ll see you there!"
If you already foster, or are thinking about fostering, why not come along, meet other fostering families in Worcestershire, find out more information and have some fun celebrating Fostering Care Fortnight with us.
