As a Rail Track Maintenance Worker, you could work on rail tracks.
Your working environment may be physically demanding and outdoors in all weathers and you may need to wear safety clothing and use safety equipment.
Rail Track Maintenance Workers tend to work between 42 to 47 hours a week. You could work evenings, weekends and or bank holidays on shifts.

You could apply to do a Rail Engineering Operative Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship, or Rail Engineering Technician Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship. You'll usually need: some GCSEs, usually including English and maths, or equivalent, for an intermediate apprenticeship, 5 GCSEs at grades 9 to 4 (A* to C), or equivalent, including English and maths, for an advanced apprenticeship
If you're over 18, you could look for rail track maintenance worker vacancies. You'll usually start as a trainee. You'll find it useful to have:
