Apple, chocolate and banana mug cake
Fancy a tasty pud but haven’t got much time for baking, why not try this quick and easy dessert. It’s great for using up bananas and apples and made in individual mugs so you’ll have the perfect portion without any leftovers!
Ingredients: (serves 1)
- 3 tbsp self-raising flour
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 ½ tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 egg
- 2 ½ tbsp milk
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil or rapeseed (not olive)
- Splash vanilla essence (optional)
- 1 apple grated
- 1 banana mashed
Method:
1. Place all the dry ingredients in a large mug.
2. Mix in the egg, milk, oil and vanilla essence until smooth.
3. Mix in the apple and banana.
4. Cook in a microwave for 3 minutes or until cooked.
#FoodSavvy tip: A pear works just as well instead of the apple.
