Two Worcestershire businesses receive the King’s Award for Enterprise

Both businesses, OOSC Clothing Limited and Slicker Recycling Limited receive their award in the International Trade category. 

This year, 252 UK businesses have achieved this award, with 22 coming from the West Midlands region, which includes Worcestershire.

OOSC Clothing Limited, received their award for outstanding short-term growth in overseas sales over a three-year period.

The Worcester and London based company are aspiring to become the world leading retro-inspired, sustainably made activewear brand.

OOSC’s Co-Founder & Director, Nick Marsden, said, 

"We are absolutely thrilled to have won the Kings Award for International trade! OOSC is now sold to over 110 different countries worldwide and it's truly awesome to get Royal approval for all our efforts in selling our sustainably made skiwear. We put so much effort into the business and to have this kind of recognition is amazing! We look forward to the Royals wearing some OOSC on the mountain soon!"

Slicker Recycling Limited, based in Stourport-On-Severn, provide a sustainable international recycling solution for waste oils.

The Lord-Lieutenant, Mrs Beatrice Grant, has written to congratulate both companies on receiving this prestigious award and she said,

The two businesses will be presented with their Award and Grant of Appointment by the Lord-Lieutenant of Worcestershire, Mrs Beatrice Grant later in the year. 

The King’s Award for Enterprise is the most prestigious awards for UK business, designed to recognise and encourage outstanding achievements in the fields of Innovation, International Trade, Sustainable Development and Promoting Opportunity (through social mobility). 

The King’s Award scheme (previously the Queen’s Award) was instituted by Royal Warrant in 1965 and the first Awards were made in 1966.
